UMW men move to 5-3 with 61-59 win

CALDWELL, Idaho - The Montana Western Bulldog Men’s Basketball team improved to 5-3 on their season after they defeated Northwest University (Wash.) 61-59 on the road Saturday.

Three Bulldogs led with six points at the conclusion of the half. Tanner Haverfield had five rebounds in the first half as the Bulldogs totaled 17 boards, just one less than the Eagles.

The Bulldogs led by 10 with 2:07 left in the game and held on to win 61-59, out-shooting the Eagles 54.2% to 35.5% from the field in the second half.

Brenton Woods and Dillon’s Michael Haverfield each had 11 points in the game. Woods added four rebounds and three assists. Haverfield had a rebound and was 2-2 from the arc.

The Bulldogs will face Dickinson State and Dakota State University on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
