The Dillon Jaycees pulled off their annual PRCA Rodeo, with sold out crowds both nights and oustanding talent in the arena adding a professional flair to the event.

I thought it went about as well as we could have expected,” said Jaycee Rodeo Chairman Jason Schumacher. “We sold out both days on our end, and we turned hundreds of people away Saturday night. We definitely did our part as safe as we possibly could.”

Top professionals from throughout the United States and Canada exibited their professional talents in the arena, with multiple former world champions entered in the event. Defending world champion steer wrestler Ty Erickson of Helena was one of the first four competitors out of the box during the Saturday performance. Erickson led the event going into Sunday with a blistering 4 second run, but it would not hold up through slack and the Sunday performance and Erickson finished just out of the money.

Two-time PRCA world champion Taos Munchy of Corona, New Mexico scored 82 points on Hermit during the Sunday performance to win the event.

The tie-down roping was a particularly competitive event with three former world champions placing 1-2-3. Ryan Jarrett of Commanche, Oklahoma, won in 8.1 seconds, Haven Meged of Miles City was second and John Douch of Huntsville, Texas placed third.

Only one area hand placed in the rodeo dominated by outof-state entrants. Ty Hedrick of Jackson split 5th/6th place money in tie-down roping with Marcos Costa of Menard, Texas. They both timed 8.9 seconds for $473.76 each.
