Poor kids

To the editor,

School is just around the corner. The 23rd Annual School SuppIy drive has started. The goal is to furnish needed school supplies to over 900 grade school children. What a nice gesture of the citizens of this community. But...yes there is a but.

The politicians always tell us that the United States is the richest country in the world. But we are collecting school supplies for students.

Last year the United States gave away $47 billion dollars to many different countries in the world. And we have to collect school supplies for our children.

Why can’t we take care of the citizens of the United States? There is no justice when it comes to helping the middle class and the working poor of America.

Oh, yes. We are the richest country in the world. And pretty damn stupid also.
