Sherry Lagunas has spent 11 years on the Parkview Elementary School Parent Council. When she started, the group voted to add playground equipment. Lagunas is elated that after 11 years, the group has brought the project home.

A year ago, a Color Fun Run at Barrett Hospital, sponsored by students and members of the council, raised $12,000 for the project. A $1,000 donation from Shopko Foundation and $26,000 from the Kennedy Foundation made the dream a reality.
