Patrick “Pat” Shafer, residence of Corpus Christi, TX, formerly of Dillon, MT, passed away on June 2, 2018 at Bay Area Heart Hospital at the age of 70.

Pat was born Nov. 11, 1947 in Dillon, MT, to Lois (Burt) and Stanley Shafer. Pat grew up in Dillon spending summers at “The Mine” with his grandparents, Jack and Ruth Shafer, and his brother Mike. They enjoyed many adventures such as camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, boating, waterskiing and Jeeping. Pat was the oldest of five children: Mike (Kathy) Shafer, Jackie Shafer, Bill (Lori) Shafer, and Geneese Shafer. After graduating from Beaverhead County High, Pat married Jean Cromwell. They had two children: Robert Shafer and Mary Shaffer, both of Columbia Falls, MT. Pat and Jean later divorced in March of 1979. Pat worked at the Dillon Glass Shop with his father, was a volunteer at the Fire Department and Search and Rescue, then later joined the Dillon Police Department.

In 1981, Pat moved to Missoula, MT, to work as a glazier. There he met the “love of his life” Delores “Dee” Parker and her three children: Ron Parker, Kim Parker and David Parker.

In 1982, they moved to Baytown, TX, where Pat worked for Binswinger as a glazier. While in Baytown, Pat enjoyed his family, fishing, and being a member of the Elks Lodge. Pat was also known to be able to sleep through the hurricanes without batting an eye.

In 1995, they moved to Corpus Christi, TX, where Pat now managed the local Binswinger Glass. While in Corpus Christi, Pat especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On Sundays he enjoyed family card night, on Wednesday mornings he enjoyed spending time with his friends from the Corpus Christi Executive Association and on Fridays he enjoyed playing poker with his friends. He also enjoyed going to Charms with his wife Dee. Pat had a passion for decorating for Christmas and having the family around to share the holiday with, and of course fishing!

Pat is survived by his wife Dee Shafer of 36 1/2 years; his brothers Mike (Kathy) Shafer and Bill (Lori) Shafer; sisters Jackie and Geneese Shafer; children Robert (Tonia) Shafer and Mary (Jeff) Shaffer, Ron Parker, Kim Parker, and David (Melissa) Parker; grandchildren Joseph, Anthony, Briana, Rebecka and Cody, Bryan and Katelyn, Crissy, Amber, Kirsten, Kearsten, Emily, Bryant, Greg, Jasmine, Zoe, and Emma; greatgrandchildren Christopher, Junior, Kaylee, Elora, and Grayson due July 2018. Pats granddaughter Jennifer Parker preceded him in death.

Pat will be dearly missed by all his family, many friends, and co-workers.
