The Dillon Lady Beavers fell to 0-5 on the season, but for the first time, the team played like a squad capable and determined to win.

“It was fun,” said Dillon coach Susie Valach. “Some things were working, the girls were having a good time. We’ve been talking a lot about mental preparation and they just seemed a lot more relaxed and were able to just play.”

Laurel came to Dillon with a quality squad and a winning record. After sweeping the first two games, Laurel lost the next two, and Dillon had a chance in the fifth game before losing.

“They took care of the easy stuff so then things started to look a little simpler,” added Valach. “It seems like we’re on the right track.

Dillon visits Stevensville Tuesday night and then hosts Frenchtown on Saturday.
