Josephine Clark

Jo left the world quietly in her sleep, while in the company of her entire family. Even to her last few days, she spoke, smiled and listened to family-members stories. Finally, she joined her husband of 70 years, Ray, who passed four months earlier.

Jo was born in Lander, Wyoming, on Oct. 5, 1930, to Joseph J. Schroeder and Florence May Schroeder. She was the last survivor of two siblings, Jerry and Ina.

Jo spent her school years in Hudson, Wyoming, moving to Denver for business school. She then moved to Riverton where she met the love of her life, Ray Clark, who was in Riverton after leaving the Navy. They married, and after 20 years, moved to Dillon, Montana in 1967.

After Ray’s retirement in 1987, he and Jo wintered in Yuma, Arizona. Back home they camped, visited family, and enjoyed nearly every one of Dillon’s sporting events.

Jo is survived by her daughters Janice (Jon) Springer, and Diane (Bob) Vezina; son Kerry (Butch) (Leighanne) Clark; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences can be sent to the Clark family, 270 Ten Peaks Drive, Dillon, MT 59725. Memorials should be made to Jo’s health care providers, and Barrett Healthcare in Dillon.
