Janet Joyce McLees 1957 – 2019

Janet Joyce McLees {62), born March 28, 1957 in Dillon, Montana, passed away May 1, 2019 at St. James Hospital with family and friends by her side.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was born and raised in Montana, where she met the love of her life Rick McLees. Together they moved their life to the last frontier – Alaska – where they spent 30 years raising their family together. Janet found joy in caring for others. It did not matter who you were or how she knew you. If you needed help, she was there for you. Janet and Rick always had your back. After Rick’s passing in 2009, Janet and her daughter Patricia moved their lives to Butte to be closer to family.

Janet is preceded in death by her father Jimmy F. Ross; husband and soulmate, Rick L. McLees; Biological mother B.J. Paddock; And biological sister, Debra L. Ingram.

She is survived by the loving mother she chose, Lela Ross McMichael and her father-in-law Carol Knapp; son, Jerime Reid; daughter, Jennifer Howard and husband Karl; Daughter Patricia McLees and husband Ty; children adopted with love, Sarah Brooks, Christopher Leleo, and Tommy Horton; brothers, Jim Ross Jr.; Phil and wife Eva Ross; brother, Steve and wife Roni Ross; Doug Ross, Tim McMichael, and David Mc-Michael; sister, Colleen and husband Ed Kamensky; sister-in-law Tina and husband Jerry Campbell; brothers-in-law Jeffrey Knapp and Mitchell McLees.; And sisters Sharon Adams and Dawn Ross; grandchildren, Peyton Wukasch, Samuel Reid, Hailey Howard, and Nessa McClelland. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as her loving friend Lynn Benjamin.

Those we love do not go away. They walk beside us every day ... unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved and always missed. Janet loved and was loved by everyone who ever knew her.

Janet was LOVE. May you forever rest in LOVE our sweet mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
