Our mother, J. Jeanene Rush Pope, left us to join our dad in heaven early the morning of Oct. 22, 2018.

She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 18, 1938, to Helen Elizabeth Halverson and Harold Jack Rush.

She spent several childhood years in Humphrey, ID, before the family moved to Lima, MT. She married Ivan S. Pope in March of 1958 and she became loving mom to his son Eugene (Gene) Blake Pope. They then had two daughters, Carmen and Roxanne.

Jeanene and Ivan moved several times, but somehow always landed in Lima. At times living in Challis, ID, Haines, AK, and Twin Bridges, MT.

Jeanene completed her GED and began work at the school in Lima after returning from Alaska and buying the grocery store in Lima. She loved her work at the school and made many friends, including students who she always thought fondly of. Later she worked for the Town of Lima as clerk.

After Ivan passed in 2002, Mom moved to Belgrade, to be closer to her sister Darlene Sullivan, and they spent many hours together shopping quilt stores, antique shops, taking trips and going to movies. She then moved to Butte to be closer to her daughters in 2012.

Jeanene was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She always had a smile, kind word and could tease with the best!

Jeanene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivan, son Gene, sisters Sidona Burgess and Theresa Sanders, son-in-law Scott Bettle and greatgranddaughter Kassidy Bettle.

She is survived by her sisters Darlene Sullivan and Josephine (Bill) Goodridge; brother Martin (Georgia) Rush; daughters Carmen (George) Duck and Roxanne (Bill) Weber; grandsons Ivan Pope and Brian (Kelsey) Bettle, Tom Duck; granddaughters Heather (Dale) Keiter, Elizabeth (Richie) Pierce and Kristy Bettle; greatgrandchildren Ashleigh Berns, Teagan Bettle, Silas Mayville, Britany, Ryan and Sierra Keiter, Brayden and Kinzie Bettle, Gavin and Reese Duck.
