George Orvis Benbow

George Orvis Benbow, 95, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 15.

He was born in Fertile, Minnesota, on April 19, 1925. He moved to Montana at a very young age to start his life as a cowboy. He moved around to many places in Montana over the years, spending the latter part of his life in Dillon, Montana working for the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement. He moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, with his wife Sandy Benbow in 2006, where he remained until his death.

George enjoyed the outdoors, horses and was well known for his sense of humor. He loved spending time playing cards and having some laughs around the table with friends and family. George is survived

George is survived by his children Chris Benboe, Kim Benboe, Keith (Olivia) Benboe, Wendy (Sean) Smith, Mike (Kimberly) Benbow, George (Cheryl) Benbow, Geoff (Christy) Benbow, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sandy Benbow; his parents; his sons David, Phillip, Kevin; his brothers Michael, Albert, Clifford, and Larry; and sisters Florence, Ruby and Ruthie.

In accordance with his wishes there will be no public memorial. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood’s Funeral Home of Idaho Falls.
