To the editor,The fact these conversations strike a nerve means we still have a lot to deal with.First, guilt is a weighted emotion, every day we need to make a new commitment to being anti-racist.Second, it has been said silence is a crime either you stand with the oppressed or you side with the oppressors.Third, many of us have been the victims of intense bullying in our lives. From these experiences and the twin quality of imagination and empathy we can join the struggle for social fairness, equality, equity and compassion.Fourth, the struggle for social justice must always be international.
