Chuck was born in Dillon, Montana, on Oct. 11, 1942, to Ralph and Veona (Dodie) Davis. He was the youngest in the family with an older sister, Irene, and older brother, Jim. He grew up in Dillon, graduated from Beaverhead High School and joined the Army. He served in Gross Sacsenheim, Germany, at a missile site. After discharge he went to college and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in accounting. He married Sandy Smith on Aug. 26, 1964, and they have two children, Charlene and Eric.

Chuck spent his entire career as an accountant with the U.S. Forest Service. This job took him and his family to many places, including Coeur d’Alene and Boise, Idaho; Hartland, Wisconsin; Richfield and Clearfield, Utah; and Missoula, Montana. No matter where they lived, Chuck was always known for having one of the best-looking yards on the block. His lawn was immaculate, and he grew beautiful flowers every year. He also enjoyed cooking; making the family dinners most of the time. He loved to fish and do home improvement projects. He spent a lot of time watching college football and his favorite team was the Montana Grizzlies.

He passed away on Dec. 20, 2018, due to a cardiac event following a recent surgery. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Alice. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children Charlene Davis and Eric (Melissa) Davis and siblings Irene Wolfe and Jim Davis. He is also survived by his grandchildren Erica (Mark), Forest, Dillon and Merryah and great grandchildren Rayne, Novalee, Beth and Jaden.

He will be greatly missed and live on forever in our hearts.
