Laknar at Rotary today

Larry Laknar will serve as guest speaker at the noon lunch meeting of Dillon Rotary today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the Guild Hall of St. James Episcopal Church, 203 E. Glendale St. in Dillon. Tots reading programs Thurs.

The Books & Babies program for kids aged newborn and up, along with their parents/guardians, will present stories and songs 10–11 a.m. at the Dillon Public Library, 121 S. Idaho St. on Thursday, Sept. 17. Later that day, Story Time or ages toddler and up will convene in the same location 4–5 p.m. with a special craft project added to the menu. Creativity kits available

With pandemic concerns shuttering the downtown Makerspace room this year, the Dillon Public Library is offering Makerspace Kits that will allow kids to create airplanes, weaved turtles, butterflies and whatever else their imaginations and skills can conjure at home. Farmers Market Sat.

The Dillon Farmers Market will convene for the last time in 2020 on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its new location—on South Washington Street between Sebree and Reeder streets, just east of the splash pad and new playground at Jaycee Park.

Beaverhead County High School volleyball will welcome Stevensville to the BW Lodge in Dillon for matches at 4:15 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. against the Yellowjackets. A Flu Shot Clinic will offer influenza immunizations on Sept. 26, in the parking lot of the Dillon Safeway, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walk-ins will be welcomed but insurance cards are required. For more information, call 683-6226.

The Beaverhead County/City Health Board is next scheduled to meet on Oct. 16 in the District Courtroom of the county courthouse in Dillon, starting at 11 a.m.

Bannack hrs.

Home to one of the world’s finest ghost towns, Bannack State Park will welcome visitors to its Town Site from 8 a.m. to sunset, and into its Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of September. Assistance with assistance

Due to the pandemic, the local Resource Assistance Center, 205 E. Center St. in Dillon, will only be open on an appointmentonly basis on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1–5 p.m. To make an appointment, call 406- 988-0360 or come knock on the door. All clients will need to put on a mask before entering. A direct line to a representative from the state Office of Public Assistance who can answer questions will be accessible during business hours on Sept. 2 and Sept. 23 and Oct. 7 and Oct. 21 by calling 406-496-4947. On days when that direct line is not available, those seeking assistance with food stamps and Medicaid can call 888-706-1535. Horse packing clinic set for center
