Beaverhead U-11 Little League All-Stars place second at state

The Beaverhead Little League (BLL) All Star run of the under 11 (U-11) baseball team ended in the state championship game at Dillon’s Vigilante Park on Sunday with a loss to Boulder Arrowhead of Billings.

The BLL team earned the state tourney host role with a District title earned at Missoula with wins over Sentinel and Mount Jumbo, both of Missoula.

“We put it on them that time and brought the banner home and brought the state tournament here for the first time in 11 years,” said BLL manager Paul Lovaas following the state title game on Sunday.

Dillon opened the state tournament with a 6-2 win over Mount Jumbo of Missoula and then ran into Boulder Arrowhead of Billings in the undefeated game. The Billings squad dealt the Dillon bunch a 16-2 loss.

In loser out action, Saturday, Dillon knocked out Mount Jumbo, 16-11, to earn a title game rematch with Boulder Arrowhead. Billings won the title game, 17-2.

Dillon’s roster included Aiden Ferguson, Noah Feenstra, Gordon Broeder, Logan Fox, Phineas Fitch, Gage Curnow, Brody Curnow, Breyden Vrooman, Landon Lovaas, Jaxon Nagle, Colter Evans, Kolton Davis, Knox Peacock.

Helping Lovaas coach were Jeff Feenstra, Joe Curnow and Brandon Ferguson.
