The Dillon Lady Beavers were edged 3-2 in a match that went the distance at Frenchtown on Saturday. Dillon fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss, both on the road in the Southwestern A Conference.

“We had some good momentum going into game 5 and really played pretty will up to the last little bit,” said Dillon coach Susanne Valach. “It slipped away.”

The back and forth match at Frenchtown went 23-25, 25- 22, 16-25, 25-23, 13-15. Madi Ruegsegger piloted the squad as setter in the 5-1 look with 37 assists. Junior hitters Ainsley Shipman and Evey Hansen hammered 16 and 13 kills, respectively.

“Madi made some good decisions,” said Valach. “She’s doing a better job of moving her feet to get there which is what we’ve been working on. Evey and Ainsley both put the ball away for us.”

Dillon hosts Stevensville Thursday and Anacoda net Tuesday.
