Melvin (Buck Shot) Salmonsen passed away April 1, 2018. Buck, as he was called by his friends, was born in Dillon on July 30, 1934, to Elmer and Mary Salmonsen.

Buck spent the majority of his youth on the Brown Ranch up Blacktail, with Eva and Ansel Brown, and Buster and Helen Brown.

After graduation from Beaverhead County High School, he moved to Billings. He worked for the Carter Oil Refinery.

He met Robin Fell and married her in 1957. Two children were born of this union, daughter Debbi Lynn and son John. Robin and he later divorced.

Rella (Michaud) Pelletier, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at her home in Dillon, surrounded by her loving family.

She recently celebrated her 86th birthday, or her 21st, because she was born on Leap year 1932. She joked that she would have liked to have made it to age

22. She was born in St. Francis New Brunswick, Canada, to Nora and Leo Michaud. She was the oldest of 14 children. On August 8, 1950, she married Hermel Pelletier. They were married for 50 years, until Mel’s death in July 2001.

Joann was the daughter of former Mayor of Anaconda, Thomas McCarvel and Margaret Ridge McCarvel. Joann was 100% Irish Catholic.
