City Council president steps down

Leaving the table. Longtime City Councilperson and Council President Tom Straugh turned in his resignation from city government last week.

Less than two months after failing to secure a move up to its top spot, Tom Straugh is moving out of city government altogether.

“I resign from the City Council effective 12/31/2017,” the Ward 3 representative and city council president for most of the past three years wrote in a single-sentence letter dated 12/29/2017 and sent to Mayor Mike Klakken.

Straugh reflected on his time in city government and the direction he sees it headed with the Dillon Tribune.
