Donald Paul Fjermestad 1931 – 2017

Donald Paul Fjermestad, 85 of Dillon, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on December 4.

He was born on December 25, 1931, in Minnewauken, North Dakota, to Marshall and Julia (Rickert) Fjermestad.

He was an underground miner in Butte after high school, and then joined the Navy.

He was married to Vera Davidson in 1961, and they had a son, Donald Paul Fjermestad.

He moved to Deer Lodge in 1967, and began his logging career. He logged for 35 years before retiring in 2002. After he retired he maintained his rental home business north of Dillon.

His survivors include: son Don Fjermestad, of Deer Lodge; and stepdaughters Patti Anderson, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Terri McCree, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Debbie Sherman, of Marion, Montana.
