Jeannette Darlene (Keene) Redfield, 77

Our beloved mother, Jeannette Darlene Redfield, departed this plain to join her soul mate, our father, Ralph Rodney (Bud) Redfield, on Aug 9, 2017; six years and one day after he passed. She was surrounded by her granddaughters when she passed.

Jeannette was born in Butte, to John Stephen and Lulu Grace Keene, on Jan 26, 1940, the second child of four. The family moved to Death Valley, California, then on to Melrose after a couple years. She attended the Melrose school until 8th grade then attended Butte High School before graduating from Beaverhead County High School in 1958. Shortly thereafter, she and Bud were married on June, 14, 1958, in Dillon.

They started their lives in a cow camp near Melrose, then they moved to a cow camp near Ennis, and then on to Glen, and on to Twin Bridges, before settling on the ranch outside Twin Bridges on Jun 18,1966. Mom took care of their children, her substantial garden and worked the ranch alongside Bud. Bud and Jeannette raised pigs, cows and finally sheep, along with chickens.

Jeannette’s baked goods, canned veggies, preserves, flowers, and chickens took the highest honors at the Madison County, Jefferson County and Beaverhead County Fairs for decades. Jeannette was also a 4-H Leader and head of the Poultry and Rabbit Division at the Madison County Fair for nearly 20 years.

Together, this pair brought into the world five children, who with their spouses, had 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, with another on the way shortly. James Burt with Dawn: Joshua Mathew. Wayne Keith with Linda: Ezra James, Ruth Emily, Isaiah Ralph, Ezekiel Wayne. Fred Wilbur with Margaret: Tarah Jeannette. Donna Suzanne with Craig: Laura Mae, James Scott, Jade Kohl. Jerry Bud with Amanda: Josh Thomas, Trista Kamaile. Great grandchildren—Laura Mae with Ben: Damon Joel Sprinkle, Sterling Kane LaHara, from Jeannette and Bud’s spiritual granddaughter Ginger Marie with Peter LaHara.

Jeannette is survived by: her children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; her aunt Darlene Kelly; brother John Steven and wife Nancy Keene; sister-in-law Betty and husband Lee Rampy; sister-in-law Shirley and husband John Magnus; brother-in-law Robert (Bob) with wife Eileen Redfield; and brother-in-law Keith Redfield; in addition to a multitude of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by: her sister-in-law Phillips (Penny) Nettick; sister Patricia Redfield; brother Jerry; sister-in-law Ruth (Pat) Wheeler; and her soulmate and husband, Ralph (Bud) Redfield.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Madison County Fair.
