Sylvia Christensen Lindquist
Sylvia Christensen Lindquist, a Montana native, passed away on May 7 at age 87 after a long life of loving and giving.
Sylvia was born to Otto and Metty Christensen, longtime Beaverhead pioneers, and was the sister of Otto Christensen Jr., of Dillon. She attended a one-room schoolhouse and later graduated from MSU as a Registered Nurse.
Sylvia moved to California after graduating, was married and had six children. She was still a Montana girl at heart and traveled home every summer for visits. Sylvia loved her Danish heritage, spoke Danish to anyone who understood, and traveled to Denmark to visit family and relatives she loved. She also served as the past president of the California Danish Sisterhood.
In her later years, she settled in Santa Barbara, CA, swam twice a week at the YMCA and served her community by donating her time at St. Vincent DePaul. Sylvia leaves behind five children: Karen, Susie, Tom, Peggy and Ellen. Her daughter Claudia preceded her in death. She also has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews living in Montana.
Jeg Elsker Dig, Sylvia, Farvel.
