Affordable care evades Americans

To the editor,

Dear Representative Daines, I see your ad on television everv dav asking that we call vou and thank you for not wanting affordable health care for America. You have a good health care plan and you have a good paying job. But you say affordable health care is too expensive. There are many things in this country that are too expensive. Let me remind you of just a very few!!

The military budget is $1.2 million spent every minute. Yes every minute. But we cannot afford health care for the middle class and the working poor.

We spent a trillion dollars on two unneeded, unnecessary illegal wars, but we cannot afford health care for the middle class and the working poor.

We give foreign aid to countries that don’t even like us at the sum of $24 billion a year.

Last year we gave away $14 billion in military aid to countries so they could kill each other.

The U.S. Government gives some $180 billion each year on corporate tax breaks. Why don’t you care about that?

The big oil companies are given billions of dollars of tax breaks, make billions of dollars, then raise the cost of oil and gas. You don’t seem to care about this!!

The U.S. Government lost $171 million to sugar companies that did not pay back money they had borrowed from the U.S. Government. You did not care about that.

The U.S. Government gave subsidies to millionaires to buy resort homes and property. The U.S. Government lost $500 million in lost claims. But the middle class can’t have affordable health care,

Mr. Daines, this is just the tip of the iceberg of money that is spent that could be cut. But you don’t seem to care about the middle class and the working poor. The Republicans have had over 100 years to have a health care plan for the citizens of this country but they have never cared about the middle class or the working poor.

You say that affordable health care is too expensive, but you voted to shut down the government that cost thousands of jobs and billions of dollars. You think that was good?

Just about every week in this little town of Dillon we have a benefit to help pay medical bills that the middle class and the working poor cannot afford.

We need a Representative who cares about all the people, not just the rich and big corporations.

Best wishes for a better and caring America.
