Class C girls’ basketball



The Lima Lady Bears hung on for a tight home win on Friday night, when they knocked off Leadore, 39-34. Skyler Martinell led the Lady Bears in front of the home crowd with 20 points, followed by Emily Stosich, with 14.  Cenzington Clarno and Kylee Weidinger each added 2 points for their team, and Katey Sutton knocked down a free throw. On Saturday, the Lima girls were back in action on their home court, where they faced West Yellowstone. Athough Lima got 22 points from Stosich, the defense of West proved too much for the home team, who lost, 54-34.  The only other Lady Bear to find the hoop against West was Clarno, who scored 12 points in the contest.

Twin Bridges

The Twin girls destroyed their Whitehall counterparts, 70-32, in Twin Bridges on Friday night. The Lady Falcons had four players hit the double-digit mark in points, as Julia Cox led all scorers with 16, followed closely by Kristen Ashcraft, with 14, and Madyson Beagley and Morgan Martin, who each scored 12. They were joined in the scoring column by Cassidy Wetzel and Jessica George, who each had 4 points, Paige Phillips and Megan Martin, who each scored 3, and Abby Williams, with 2. Beagley, Ashcraft and George each drained a trey in the win.


The Sheridan girls basketball team lost to Manhattan Christian, 65-25, on Friday night. The Panther girls hung tight to the Lady Eagles before giving up 22 points in the second quarter. The Lady Panthers were lead on offense by April Degel, with 10 points, Alexis Woirhaye, with 9, Janie Smart, who had 4, and Kassidy Hokanson, with 2. On Saturday, the young Sheridan team gained even more experience when they went up against the tough team out of Gardiner. Sheridan got points from Degel, with 5, Smart, with 4 and Destiny Fabel, who knocked down a free throw.
