Be forewarned, I believe

To the editor,

The following letter is prickly! If the reader does not believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of all humankind what follows will go in one ear and out the other. However!?

“As I prepare to attend the Dillon Lunch Bunch again today I am reviewing the list of those Christian, Bible believing local churches that participate. It astounds me to see the number dwindling and of those who have never participated. Shame! Over these past years that I have participated I have heard of all the excuses why. If you believe this Nation is in direr straights and going the wrong way it is only the Lord Jesus Christ who is able to reverse that trend and straighten it out. It is incumbent upon “believers” that we reverse that trend we see by “training up” the youth in the way the Lord would have them go. I am rereading the little book, “The Argonauts of Faith — The Adventures of The ‘Mayflower’ Pilgrims”, by Basil Mathews. It seems to me as a layman that we must recapture their commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Of course if you are one of those who believe that your little faction, clique, and turf is the “only way”, so be it. Again, shame! Then the apostle Paul was right in 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 to denounce the divisions within the church. If there is no unity of the Spirit within the church of Jesus Christ then this Nation and its youth will be sold down the wrong road. The Lord and His Holy Spirit must be inexorably grieving.”
