Patsy Bennett

1942 – 2013
Patsy Bennett

Patsy (Contway) Bennett, 72, of Dillon, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, at home surrounded by her family. Patsy had been very ill for nearly a year.

Patsy was the third child born to Harold (Toke) and Helene Contway, of Dillon. She attended schools in Dillon and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1960. She also attended WMC of UM for a semester. She acquired a cosmetologist license in Illinois.

Patsy loved caregiving. She started out as a candy striper in high school at the old Barrett Hospital, and then worked at Parkview Acres Nursing Home as a NA. She also gave willingly of herself to give home care to the elderly. Her unselfish desire to always be there for others is a well-documented trait of hers. Cooking and making crafts was another trademark of hers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Patsy was God’s princess. He brought her out of exile into His Kingdom. She had five simple rules to be happy in life. Number 1: Free your heart from hatred—forgive. Number 2: Free your mind from worries—most never happen. Number 3: Live simply and appreciate what you have. Number 4: Give more. Number 5: Expect less.

Patsy’s survivors include: her husband, Bob Sr. (49 years plus), of Dillon; daughter Johanna Palmgren (Darren), of Bluewater, NM; sons Tom Bennett and Bob Bennett Jr., of Dillon; brothers Harold (Toke) Contway Jr., of Dillon; Wayne and Karole Contway, of Dillon; grandsons Dustin McNeill, of Billings, Joshua McNeill, of Milan, NM, Chance Mayer, of Bozeman, Liam Mayer, of Bozeman, Duncan McNeill, of Bluewater, NM, and granddaughter Helene McNeill, of Bluewater, NM; great-grandchildren Chardeza McNeill, Dezrah McNeill and Jerimia McNeill, of Milan, NM.

Graveside services will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Barrett Home Health and Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
